- Welcome to CakeScraps! I would like to take a minute to share the meaning of the name "CakeScraps." My mom & I used to make cakes together (oh how I miss that) and when she would bake, the kids in the neighborhood would smell her baking and they would come running to ask for the "cake scraps." Well Aunt Ida would NEVER turn down anyone at her door.....and now I have inherited the joy of neighborhood kids (big & small) asking for "cake scraps." It is a very meaningful name that will always hold a very special place in my heart and kitchen. For those of you who grew up on these "CakeScraps" you truly understand. Now she is in heaven I'm sure looking down on all of us. Sweet dreams and may you always have "CakeScraps!"
